Bad Blood was held on Sunday and some of the guys delivered slightly better matches than expected. The Dudley Boyz really let me down. These guys are the only Tag Team that ever held the WCW, WWE and ECW Tag Team Championships; they do not deserve the awful storylines that have been thrown at them.
I think that it was a good decision to give La Resistance a run with the titles. This is for two reasons. One, they have a load of potential, these guys can deliver great interviews and even better matches and two this loss has lead to a break up with Kane and RVD. Kane and RVD was a horrible decision for a Tag Team, it almost destroyed both men. RVD is a very talented wrestler who gets over well with the fans; the fans do not want to see him in such a bad Tag Team. Kane is World Championship material, he deserves well better, and the writers do not know how to use him.
Moving on I was very impressed with the Goldberg/Jericho match. These guys delivered an exceptional match. Although Goldberg is not the best when it comes to his wrestling he performed well and as for Jericho, he never lets me down.
HBK and Flair delivered a match that I have mixed feelings about. The match did have its good moments like when Flair did the top rope chop and HBK introduced the table but it did have its fare share of poor and slow moments. Overall I would say that this match was decent and nothing more.
The "Red neck Triathlon" sickened me. This was an awful idea. Let me start with the "burping contest". This was a mixture of Austin ruining his reputation and obvious sound effects. Now those that have seen the show or have read the results would know all about the pie-eating contest. Introducing Mae Young to this was awful. At Royal Rumble 2000 I thought that I had seen the last of her when she flashed, but then she turned up on a SmackDown! Show and announced that she was pregnant. Now she disappeared from the screens for a while and I thought that I had seen the last of her, but no they just had to put her in a thong at Bad Blood. She is an elderly woman, what is the creative team thinking. The WWE was nearly banned from Madison Square Garden for the Royal Rumble incident.
Moving on, it was horrible that Booker did not win the IC Title. This would have been great if Booker took the strap from Christian on front of his hometown. I guess that the WWE do not want the title swapping hands at the end of every month like it did in the past.
The Hell in a Cell was not as good as previous Hell in a Cell matches. Triple H and Nash did a better job than I predicted. I think that Mick Foley really rescued this match. Yet again Triple H has retained his title. I think that Triple H should really let go of the belt in the next few weeks and let somebody else carry it, preferably Kane.
Bad Blood was not as good as other WWE events. Some matches where great and others where absolutely terrible.
I think that RAW was far better than Bad Blood. I think that it is a good decision to give Kane a shot at the World Championship. My predictions are that Kane will lose the match on Monday. When and if Kane loses his mask, it will be to get him over as a Heavyweight. I guess that the WWE do not want a masked champion. If Kane loses he will more than likely go back for a rematch and win it then.
I like the way that the writers are putting over Randy Orton as more than a Evolution come along. He was given a lot of time on the mic on RAW and he got to brawl with Mick Foley. I was looking at the Evolution Titantron video and they left out Batista. Im sure that Batista will be returning to the group as he said that he would in several interviews. I predict that the group will find a fourth member and then turn on him when Batista returns.
This week RAW was mainly based on putting over younger, fresher talent. I liked this because WCW went down hill with having people like Hogan, Sting and Savage at the top for years. The WWE are being wise here
SmackDown! Was a major let down. This was very disappointing for a 200th episode. There was nothing special what so ever about it. The only thing that actually made the show worth watching for me was the APA comeback.
Ultimo Dragon should be entertaining next week. He has performed greatly in the past few weeks during his Dark matches. His entrance is spectacular. It involves huge flames firing out from the sides of the stage.
I will be looking forward to next week, as the show will be held in the Garden. The stars will have to put on a good performance. I will be also looking forward to the APA match. The APA got a great response from the crowd. I dont think some of the guys in the crowd recognised Bradshaw though. Bradshaw ran down with bleached blond hair and a cleanly shaved face. As for Simmons he is still the same, but he did have a trendy pair of white, Michael Jackson shoes. I hope they return the APA office skits. I really hate skits, but the APA skits are entertaining.
As for the rest of the show, it was poor, very poor. I think that the idea is to put Hogan in a match with Mr. America after Hogans run in during Shows match. This should have a master VS student gimmick as Hogan trained the Big Show. Overall the show sucked.
The WWE is really suffering as of late. They need to provide us with some better storylines. They have all the top talent, but they do not know how to use it. I will look forward to both of the upcoming shows as they offer great matches. Thank you for reading the first issue of Rope Dive. The new editions of Rope Dive will be posted on Saturdays.
